COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

April 1, 2020 Update:

Hello Bethesda Church family,

We pray that you are abiding by the recent restrictive measures instituted by our Governor as our county is now under the stay-at-home order. It is important for us to behave in a manner that promotes and protects the general health and safety of our families, neighbors, and community. See Philippians 2:1-4

As we journey together through this pandemic, we can serve others and esteem their lives by abiding by these actions of our government. Similarly, social distancing restrictions have now been extended until the end of April, so all of our Sunday worship experiences will continue to be held online, along with weekly prayer times, and fellowship gatherings.  If you need assistance with learning how to utilize these technologies, instructions are located as you scroll down here, or call our office at 570-294-3467. Additionally, all church events and activities are suspended until the stay-at-home restrictions are lifted.*

As you continue in your personal devotion to the Lord, please remember to pray for the arrest of this dreadful virus. Use the “extra” time that you have to implore God for his mercy and grace in our lives, our families, our communities, our nation, and the whole global community. We are all in this together!

Many people in our neighborhood, our places of employment, and places of recreation are asking lots of questions and may be seeking advice from you. We as a church have been preparing for such a time as this. As many of our members have been busy sewing face masks for health care workers, we have collected 150+ masks that will provided to health care providers at Stone Ridge Retirement Community facilities.

So let’s continue to encourage one another and stay connected even in socially-distancing times.

Let me close with another Scripture from Philippians:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:6-9)
